Working with everything from broken pencils to spilled ink, he creates wildly intricate scenes where objects defy logic—cats with too many legs, trees that grow sideways, and rivers that run uphill. Hutchings’ work plays with perspective, proportion, and the absurd, inviting viewers to question the very nature of reality through a smudged and scribbled lens. His latest series, Doodles of Despair, explores the intersection of boredom and brilliance—one errant line at a time.
